A 132-pound puppy from the United Kingdom has left internet viewers in stitches for refusing to end his daily walk in a clip that has quickly gone viral on social media.

The hilarious video, shared on TikTok in August under the username @milky.the.newf, shows the Newfoundland puppy sitting on the sidewalk, refusing to cross the road after learning what that really means.

Layover text in the clip reads: "When your 60 kg puppy has learnt that crossing the road= end of walk. No thanks dad my walk is not over."

"The result of having a large and stubborn puppy who loves his walkies," adds a caption shared along with the viral video.

Walking your dog is an essential part of their daily routine, but the timing of the walk can significantly impact their comfort and health.

Newsweekpreviously asked experts at what time it is best to walk your dog, and they recommended walking them during the cooler parts of the day, such as early mornings or late evenings, especially when temperatures rise.

Hot sidewalks can be harmful to their paws, and extreme heat can lead to overheating, particularly for breeds that are more sensitive to high temperatures, such as bulldogs and other flat-faced dogs.

Establishing a consistent walking routine is crucial for a canine's mental and physical health. Regular walks help them explore their environment, socialize, and provide important mental stimulation.

The length and frequency of walks can vary depending on the dog's age, breed, and fitness level, but starting with at least a 15-minute walk is a good baseline for adult dogs.

The clip quickly went viral on social media, getting viewers from across TikTok. It has so far received over 1.1 million views and more than 44,300 likes on the platform.

One user, Alfie.nl, commented: "This is what happens when you get yourself a tiktok prop instead of a pet."

Lottiep559 wrote: "My XL she's 1 lays on the floor to say hello to other dogs people kids but she also does this when leaving the park or if I'm not going the way she wants to go, they just like tantrum toddlers."

Iris | Content Creator added: "My dog does this including lying down sometimes and I always have to pretend it's me who decided to sit and rest for a bit. I'm like 'just act natural.'"
