On Tuesday, a Warren man received a life prison sentence with the possibility of parole beginning after he serves 23 years following a conviction earlier this month by a Trumbull County jury for aggravated murder with a gun specification, according to a Trumbull County Prosecutor’s press release.
Zaa Von Hameed, 27, was given the sentence, that included a three-year gun specification, during a hearing before Judge Andrew D. Logan. The jury deliberated for about 10 hours over two days in a trial that ended November 15.
Hameed was convicted in the May 2024 fatal shooting at the Park Place 24 Tavern in Warren. The murder victim was identified as Nathaniel Bradley, 21, who died of a fatal gunshot wound to his back.
Reports stated that a physical altercation between victim and defendant occurred prior to the shooting. The night spot has been permanently closed because of violent incidents there.
During the sentencing hearing, two relatives of the victim spoke to the judge saying Bradley was an easy-going person with a gentle soul. The press related stated the family wants to see justice served for their slain relative, according to the release.
Trumbull County Assistant Prosecutors Michael Burnett and Kevin Trapp called five state witnesses to the stand including two Warren police detectives, the bar owner and the deputy county coroner.
“These cases are never easy. We are very happy with the sentence Mr. Hameed received. Attorney (Kevin) Trapp and I are thankful for the opportunity to fight for justice for Nathaniel Bradley and his family,” Burnett said.
