A 20-year-old man was arrested at a South Carolina airport after he telling law enforcement he a bomb, handgun and drugs, according to a police report.

On Wednesday, the Youngstown Police Department Detective Division, in cooperation with the Adult Parole Authority, arrested Mark Parker, 48, in Youngstown on a warrant for attempted abduction, a felony of the 4th degree, according to a Youngstown Police Department press release.

The release stated the warrant stemmed from an incident early on Dec. 2 in which Parker attempted to abduct a female on her way to work.

Officials said quick, professional and thorough work by the YPD Patrol Division and officers Cox and Skowron of the Detective Bureau lead to the identification of, and warrant for, Parker.

Parker was released from prison in May of this year after serving over 20 years for the charges of aggravated burglary, kidnapping, and rape and will face parole violations as well, according to police.

Department officials said they wish to thank their law enforcement partners who helped in the identification and arrest of Parker, including the Adult Parole Authority and the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office.

“We continue to encourage any individuals who experience cases of stalking or similar behavior to immediately find a safe place and call 9-1-1 to inform authorities,” officials said.
