Cases handled in Trumbull County Common Pleas Court on Tuesday
The following cases were handled Tuesday, March 25 before Judge Sarah Thomas Kovoor of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:
Edward Hammons III, 23, of Greenville, Pa., was given a 12-month prison sentence for probation violations connected to an attempted failure to comply with order/signal of police officer conviction in 2020. Hammons had been declared an absconder from probation since August 2024, prosecutors stated. He was arrested on warrants on Feb. 28, 2025 and has received a new conviction for retail theft felony in Mercer County, Pa., the judge stated. The original offense occurred July 22, 2020, in Brookfield Township.
Aronde McCoullough, 19, of Parkman Road NW, Warren, pleaded guilty to a charge of failure to comply with order/signal of a police officer, a third-degree felony. As part of the plea deal, both sides agreed that McCoullough would be given a three-year driver’s license suspension. He will undergo a background investigation conducted by probation officers prior to sentencing. The case involved a Nov. 16, 2024, police chase that occurred in Liberty Township after McCoullough’s vehicle failed to stop for a violation. Police use excessive speeds on Interstate 80 and state Route 11 before breaking off the chase, the prosecution stated.
The following case was handled Tuesday afternoon, March 25 before Judge Ronald J. Rice of Trumbull County Common Pleas Court:
Michael R. Kassander, 57, of Hamilton Street SW, Warren, was sentenced to 18 months in prison for a probation violation for an attempted tampering with evidence conviction from January 2025. Kassander had failed to report to his probation officer, thus failing to fulfill any of his community control sanctions, according to reports.
