Area state legislator trying again to rename Mosquito Lake State Park for Donald Trump

A Trumbull County state legislator wants to rename an area state park after the Republican nominee for U.S. President.

Mike Loychik (R-Bazetta) says he’s reintroducing a bill to rename Mosquito Lake State Park in Cortland to Donald J. Trump State Park. Loychik previously tried the legislation in 2021.

President Trump has worked tirelessly not just for the people of Trumbull and Ashtabula counties in District 65 but for all Ohioans and all Americans, both during and after his presidency,” Loychik said. “In light of the recent events that transpired in Butler, Pennsylvania, I believe this further personifies the type of leader we have in President Trump-brave, fearless, and puts America first, which is why I hope that we can rename our wonderful state park in his honor.”
