The Trumbull County Historical Society is gearing up for an exciting and jam-packed ninth year of the Oktoberfest celebrations on Courthouse Square in Warren, according to director Meghan Reed.

She said it’s a chance to showcase the diverse cultures in the Mahoning Valley region, while also raising money for the historical society.

“Oktoberfest is meant to celebrate the German heritage of Trumbull County while providing a fun event on Courthouse Square for all ages,” said Reed.

Oktoberfest is happening Sept. 14 from 4 - 8 p.m. on Courthouse Square in downtown Warren.

Twenty-four local businesses are participating in Oktoberfest, plus these seven Ohio breweries:

It’s also a fundraiser to help the Trumbull County Historical Society be able to maintain a collection of 30,000 items on records showing the history of Warren and Trumbull County.

“Things have changed and gotten bigger but one thing remains the same–Oktoberfest is just so much fun. Whether it’s the grape-stomping competition, pony rides, or the stein hoist–this event is about supporting the local community and enjoying the company of friends and family,” said Reed. “This year we are fortunate to have the food provided by West and Main and Babcia’s Lunchbox. Ice cream will be provided by Cockeye Creamery for a nominal fee.”
