Looking for something to do this weekend around Mahoning Valley?

Here are our top five picks for things to do in the area, from Food Truck Friday in Howland to EV Fest in Voltage Valley.

Food Truck Friday in Howland

Acoustic duo The Conkle Brothers are playing during the last Food Truck Friday of the 2024 season from 5 - 8 p.m. at The Medici Museum of Art.

Bring friends, family and lawn chairs for food, music and free admission to the museum, located at 9350 East Market St.

Support local food trucks including Majevics, Hearty Roots and The Alternative, as well as bakers like Sweet Tooth To Go, Buckeyes and More and Cookies To Go.

Fall Market on the Green

Check out the annual fall market featuring over 100 arts and crafts vendors in the Canfield Village Green.

It’s happening from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. this Saturday, sponsored by the Junior Women’s League of Canfield.

Vendors will be selling fall-themed decorations, clothes, crafts, handmade goods, food and more.

EV Fest

This Saturday, #1 Cochran and BRITE Energy Innovator are bringing Electric Vehicle Fest back for the second year at the Southern Park Mall in Boardman.

At EV Fest, electric vehicles and local #1 Cochran experts will be on-site to answer any questions from noon - 2 p.m. at DeBartolo Commons at the Southern Park Mall.

Try Slick’s Sweets or Lariccia’s Italian Food Truck, and listen to music from Loud 102.3 while checking out the cars, and even go for a free test drive.

Yo Big Bounce will set up a bounce-house obstacle course for kids, and staff from BRITE and the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center will offer hands-on STEM activities for families in attendance.

Visitors to EV Fest have a chance to win two tickets to see Post Malone in concert this October.

“We’re proud of our continued work with #1 Cochran to promote and educate our community about electric vehicles and the role they play in advancing the clean energy economy -- right here in the Mahoning Valley and across Ohio,” said Rick Stockburger, president and CEO of BRITE.

EV enthusiasts who wish to showcase their own vehicles in the show can sign up to participate online.

Penguin City Oktoberfest

This year, the Penguin City Brewing Company’s Oktoberfest benefits the Rotary of Youngstown’s Operation Warm Coat.

It’s starting at noon Saturday with a limited-edition Penguin City Oktoberfest mug release.

Every Apple Cider Mule bought on Saturday goes toward providing new winter coats to Youngstown students Pre-K to sixthgrade.

From noon - 6 p.m., over 40 vendors are setting up shop in the vendor village, and there will be face painting and activities for kids throughout the day.

At 7 p.m., enjoy live music by The Zolka’s and food from Lena’s Pierogi House.

Oktoberfest at Penguin City is family and dog friendly.

YSU Scholarships Fundraiser at Westside Bowl

Support Youngstown State University professors taking the stage from 5 - 8 p.m. at Westside Bowl this Sunday.

Professors Brian Bonhomme from the History department, Matt O’Mansky from Anthropology and Ron Shaklee in the Geography department are signed up to play.

One hundred percent of ticket sales go directly toward funding scholarships for YSU students.

Tickets for Sunday’s show are $10 each and $5 for students available online.
