The Ohio State Highway Patrol joined forces with other members of the 6-State Trooper Project to focus on criminal patrol and drug interdiction, according to the Ohio Department of Public Safety.
The department said during the project, Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers made 54 felony drug arrests for drugs and recovered 13 illegal firearms.
According to the department, Mahoning County had two firearm seizures and one felony arrest. Trumball County had one firearm seizure.
The enforcement effort included the Indiana State Police, Kentucky State Police, Michigan State Police, Pennsylvania State Police, West Virginia State Police and Ohio State Highway Patrol.
The initiative began on Sept. 12 and continued through Sept. 15.
Collectively, troopers made 441 felony drug arrests and recovered 40 illegal firearms, according to the department.
The 6-State Trooper Project is a multi-state law enforcement partnership aimed at providing combined and coordinated law enforcement and security services in the areas of highway safety, criminal patrol and intelligence sharing.
