To prepare young voters and secure their registration for the November election, the League of Women Voters of Ohio converted a 19-foot trailer into a mobile voter registration for a statewide campaign.
Since early September, League of Women Voters of Ohio have made stops and engaged with students at 20 different colleges across the state ahead of election season, including this week’s stop at Youngstown State University.
The “Your Voice, Your Vote, Your Power” campus visit on Friday at YSU will feature music, prizes and a range of nonpartisan voting information.
The mobile voter registration unit will be parked from 9:30 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the YWCA Mahoning Valley parking lot at 25 W Rayen Ave. in Youngstown.
Volunteers with League of Women Voters of Ohio will help students with voter registration, understand civic engagement, explain recent changes to voter ID laws, highlight important election dates and offer information on becoming a poll worker.
“By making their voices heard and casting their votes, students will shape decisions and policies that impact not only their futures but the future of generations to come,” the league wrote.
