Here is what’s happening for Halloween throughout October at Eastwood Mall in Niles

October is here, and the Eastwood Mall Complex is the place to be for a whole month of family-friendly fun and fall festivities.

From picking pumpkins to dressing up pets in costume, there are tons of activities to try as the shopping center becomes the Monster Maul for October.

Find the Eastwood Mall on the corner of Route 422 and Route 46 in Niles.

Safety Day, Eastwood Mall Pick and Paint

Local county emergency services are partnering with Home Depot for Safety Day at 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. this Saturday.

Kids are invited to participate in outdoor activities and explore fire trucks, ambulances and SWAT vehicles outside Home Depot.

New parents can get their car seats checked for safety.

Stick around on Saturday for the Eastwood Mall Pick and Paint from 2 - 4 p.m.

You’ll get to choose your own pumpkin from the patch in Center Court to paint. The pumpkins will be on display at the mall or artists can take them home.

To paint a pumpkin, make sure your registration form is submitted through the Eastwood Mall events website.

Meijer Health and Safety Fair

October 12, the Meijer Health and Safety Fair is happening from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. in the Meijer parking lot, located at 2100 Niles Cortland Road in Warren.

Medical professionals are offering free flu shots and Covid-19 vaccines will be available starting at 10 a.m.

Bring proof of health insurance. There will also be a UH AirMed helicopter landing, fire extinguisher training and more.

Howl-O-Ween pet costume contest

On Oct. 19, bring your furry friends to Center Court at the mall to show off their best Halloween costumes at the Howl-O-Ween Pet Costume Contest with Pup’s Path.

Wow the judges with your pet’s attire and win prizes in the process.

Spots are limited; online registration is encouraged.

Breast cancer survivor ceremony

Then on Oct. 20, members of Zeta Tau Alpha, CheerTime Athletics and Hot 101 are hosting a breast cancer survivors’ recognition ceremony at the mall.

The breast cancer survivors’ ceremony begins at noon with live performances and gifts for survivors while supplies last.

Trick or Treat at Eastwood Field

On Oct. 23, the Mahoning Valley Scrappers invite kids ages 12 and under to come Trick or Treat at Eastwood Field, presented by Once Upon A Child in Niles.

Tickets are $1 each with a limited number of fast passes available at the Scrappers Team Office at Eastwood Field.

Spooktacular costume contest, Trick or Treat inside Eastwood Mall

The scary good time continues Oct. 26 with a Spooktacular costume contest and Trick or Treat inside Eastwood Mall starting at noon in the center court.

Children between ages two and 15 are invited to show off their Halloween costumes with a chance to win amazing prizes.

Stick around for trick-or-treating from store to store throughout the mall, followed by a trunk or treat from 4- 6 p.m. at Auto Toys next to Bob Evans.

Check out a car show, grab candy and go through the spooky car wash. All proceeds from the car wash will be donated to Akron Children’s Hospital.
