Chris Weaver is taking over the role as Youngstown union president for Jon Racco, who has served as president for the last three years.

“Representing our members against this hostile administration has been one of the great honors of my career and I am thankful for the support my fellow union brothers and sisters have given me,” said Racco. “I know Chris will always be on the right side of labor and continue the representation our members deserve.”

Weaver has been a dedicated civil servant to the Youngstown community since he started at the fire station in 1999.

He was promoted to a lieutenant in 2009 and captain in 2015, according to local news reports.

Weaver has over 20 years of union experience, serving previously in many roles and functions on the executive board.
