YSU Honors Trustees launch summer driveway painting fundraiser

The Sokolov Honors College Trustees are once again offering YSU-themed driveway paintings this summer as part of their annual fundraising initiative.
Painting sessions will take place July 8 through August 30. Homeowners can choose from a variety of stencil options, including the big Y, big Pete the Penguin, little Pete the Penguin and a small Pete the Penguin head. Touch-ups of previously painted YSU logos are also available.
Prices range from $15 to $120:
- Pete the Penguin head: $15
- Touch-up (any design): $20
- Little Pete the Penguin: $40
- Big Y: $60
- Big Pete the Penguin: $75
- Big Y + Big Pete combo: $120
Before each session, Honors Trustees will confirm the schedule via email and phone based on order details and location. If needed, they will also follow up for clarification on where the design should be placed. Homeowners do not need to be present during the painting unless preferred.
For blacktop driveways, it is recommended to wait at least three weeks after sealing before painting, as sealant timing affects durability.
The deadline to place an order is 5 p.m., Wednesday, July 31. Trustees will travel up to 20 miles from campus in any direction.
