A sweet older cat has been at a Philadelphia animal shelter for a year, so his foster family decided to celebrate him in a special way..

While Gobi has been at the Pennsylvania Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the 6-year-old cat has been struggling to adjust due to eye problems and very loud noises, his pet profile says. Since he and shelter life don’t blend, Gobi has been staying with a foster family.

He’s been homeless for a year, so his foster decided to do something very special to keep his spirits up.

“To make him feel better, his foster family bought him some fancy new outfits and threw him a party to remind him just how loved he is,” the Pennsylvania SPCA said in an Oct. 2 Facebook post.

Photos were shared of Gobi looking snazzy in a sweater and looking like he’s ready to round up some mini horses in his mini cowboy hat.

“Gobi, the gentlest older boy, was rescued by our Animal Law Enforcement team last year, and is the last of his group to find a forever home,” the shelter said.

“Due to his limited vision, he can be shy at first, but once he settles into his new space, becomes the sweetest and most playful kitty. Despite everything, Gobi still has so much love to give, and many potential memories to create.”
