A man was critically injured in an intentional hit-and-run crash outside a Georgia bar, police said.

Authorities are still searching for the person they said purposely hit the victim with their vehicle after the two men got into a late-night fight at The Bird sports bar in Dunwoody, according to the city’s police department.

Officers were called to the restaurant at 2:20 a.m. Friday, April 25 about someone struck by a car, police said in a news release.

Investigators said a man and his girlfriend were at the bar when another man approached them. The stranger touched the woman to get her attention, police said, leading to a scuffle between the two men.

Bar staff asked all three of them to leave after the incident, according to police.

After the couple had walked into the parking lot, the man was hit by a car, police said.

“Witnesses stated the vehicle intentionally drove towards the male, struck him and left the scene,” officers said.

Authorities didn’t publicly identify the victim but said he’s a man in his mid 40’s.

He was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition, police said.

No arrests had been made as of Friday afternoon, and police said the incident remains under investigation.

They did not provide a description of the vehicle or driver involved.

Dunwoody is about a 20-mile drive northeast from downtown Atlanta.
