In an undercover sting, officers arrested men ages 25 to 91 accused of soliciting sex on chat sites popular with underage teens, Mooresville Police Chief Ron Campurciani said Thursday, April 24, 2025.

An argument turned violent when two people attacked a man in a wheelchair and tried to pour bleach down his throat, Michigan prosecutors said.

The accused attackers, 34-year-old Brittany Walker and 62-year-old Samuel Payton, were arraigned in court on April 23, the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office said.

Walker was charged with torture, first-degree vulnerable adult abuse, assault with intent to do great bodily harm and domestic violence, prosecutors said. Payton was also charged with torture and assault.

Walker, Payton and the victim got into an argument in a Detroit apartment on Jan. 29, then the two suspects attacked and tortured the man, according to prosecutors.

The 44-year-old man was taken to the hospital, officials said. He suffered a cranial bleed and a left orbital wall fracture to his head.

The two suspects were previously arraigned in February and held on $1 million bonds. Walker’s then felonious assault charge was changed to domestic violence in April, prosecutors said.

Both are scheduled to appear in court on May 28.
