Months after a Missouri girl went missing, she has been found in Colorado with a registered sex offender, police said.

Maximilian Bondrescu, 44, the girl’s accused kidnapper, was booked into jail on a slew of felony and misdemeanor charges, the Fort Collins Police Services said in an April 24 Facebook post.

Police said they got a tip from a Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force detective April 18 about a child missing since December possibly being in Fort Collins.

After detectives gathered information that led them to believe the Missouri child may be at a home in Fort Collins, they served a search warrant at the home and encountered Bondrescu, police said.

When questioned, Bondrescu denied a girl being inside the home, according to police.

As law enforcement officials searched the home, they found the missing girl, police said.

Through an investigation, police said they learned Bondrescu rented a car to drive to Missouri and meet the girl, police said.

He “then drove her to Colorado,” police said.

The girl told detectives “she was held against her will,” police said.

On occasions, the girl told detectives, Bondrescu would take her out of the home and force her to “work for his snow removal company,” FoCo Sno GO, police said.

She was forced to wear a mask as she shoveled snow to hide her age and identity, police said.

Bondrescu was booked into jail on multiple counts, including second-degree kidnapping of a child, sexual assault on a child, second-degree assault, false imprisonment and child abuse, police said.

Bondrescu is being held on $500,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court May 5, jail records show.

Police said they are asking anyone with information, including former customers of FoCo Sno GO, to contact Detective David Guy at 970-416-2026.

Fort Collins is about a 65-mile drive north from Denver.
