North Carolina deputies searched Saturday, May 31, 2025, for a “road rage” driver who fired multiple rounds into another car on Interstate 85.

A man was arrested in connection to an attack on his mom, New Jersey officials said.

On June 27, officers responded to a neighborhood in Manchester Township and found a 71-year-old woman with injuries to her body and face, according to a Facebook post by the Ocean County prosecutor’s office.

She was transported to the hospital and was in critical but stable condition as of June 28, the post said.

During their investigation, officers learned the woman’s 44-year-old son, Joseph Cavallaro, attacked his mother and beat her with a cane, prosecutors said.

He was taken into custody before experiencing a medical episode and then was transferred to a hospital where he was in stable condition, officials said.

After being released from the hospital, he will be booked into the Ocean County jail on charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and unlawful possession of a weapon as he awaits his detention hearing, officials said.

Ocean County is about a 40-mile drive southeast from Trenton.
