A “violently resisting” woman is accused of flinging her own feces at a police officer attempting to detain her, California police reported.

An officer suspected the woman was under the influence of drugs after discovering her behind a business at about 4:10 p.m. Saturday, June 28, the Redding Police Department said in a news release.

The 35-year-old Redding woman ran away and would not stop when the officer tried to detain her, police said.

When he exited his patrol vehicle, she punched him in the face, then reached inside her pants and hurled feces at him, police said.

As they struggled, she grabbed his groin, police said.

The woman faces charges of assault on an officer, resisting arrest and being under the influence of drugs, police said. She also had warrants for her arrest.

Redding is about a 160-mile drive north from Sacramento.
