This election is, arguably, one of the most impactful in recent history. The lead-up to Tuesday, Nov. 5, has probably felt incredibly long to Ohio voters, fraught with tensions and controversies.
Early voter numbers have already surpassed the 2020 numbers in many Ohio precincts, so it’s important to maintain that momentum at the polls.
Here’s how to locate your polling place in Ohio, and what you will need when you get there.
Check your registration
Before you can cast your ballot, ensure you’re registered to vote. You can check your registration status on Ohio’s election website using the voter lookup portal.

On Election Day, Youngstown residents must vote at their designated polling location. Here’s how to find yours:

Visit the Mahoning County Board of Elections Website or call them at 330-783-2474
Use the Secretary of State’s online tool
Voting Options
Polls are open from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Election Day. If you are in line by 7:30 p.m., you will be allowed to cast your ballot, even if the polls have officially closed.
What to Bring
Ohio law requires voters to present a valid photo ID when voting in person. Acceptable forms include:
- Ohio driver’s license
- State of Ohio ID card
- Interim ID form issued by the Ohio BMV
- A U.S. passport
- A U.S. passport card
- U.S. military ID card
- Ohio National Guard ID card
- U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card
Important notes:
- It cannot be expired
- It must contain your name and photograph
- An Ohio driver’s license with your former address IS acceptable if your current address is in the pollbook
