Tyreek Hill Makes His Opinion Clear of Dolphins’ Backup QB

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill went to bat for third-string quarterback Tyler Huntley despite Monday's lackluster performance.

"'Snoop' (Huntley) is awesome," Hill told reporters on Wednesday. "For him to be here for three weeks and for him to be prepared the way he was prepared for that Monday night game, in my book, that's trending upwards."

"Because our offense is so complicated and there's so many motions and words in the play call, and for him to get all that down in a week or so, it's tremendous," Hill added. "I can tell already by him stepping into the huddle, he's already confident. He's reading the play call, not even looking at it, so he's ready to roll, man."

Miami signed Huntley from the Baltimore Ravens practice squad last week in place of the injured Tua Tagovailoa and Skylar Thompson. Hill, who had six 1,000-yard seasons since 2017, hasn't enjoyed the same level of success this year amid the quarterback carousel. That said, Hill anticipates a stronger connection in Week 5.

"He's now had a chance to see how me and (Jaylen) Waddle move, had a chance to see how (De'Von) Achane move, understand his offensive line, what's going on up there," Hill said. "It all ties in together, man. Once he had his chance to figure all that out, it's going to be smooth back there."

The Dolphins offense can almost only go up from the past three weeks of 12 or fewer points. Miami will try to get back on track against the New England Patriots next.
