WHAT TO LOOK FOR

The Fighting Irish are 10-5 all-time against the Tar Heels, but North Carolina has had Notre Dame's number in recent years. The Tar Heels have beaten the Fighting Irish each of the past two seasons, including a 60-50 home win when the Irish were ranked No. 4 in the nation two years ago.

The Fighting Irish boast the No. 2 scoring offense in the ACC (Florida State) and rank No. 8 in the nation averaging 89.3 ppg while the Tar Heels have the No. 11 scoring defense in the nation, holding opponents to just 52.7 points per game. UNC is limiting opposing squads to only 34.4% from the field.

Notre Dame is getting closer to full strength after dealing with a string of injuries this season. Sonia Citron, Kate Koval and Liza Karen have all missed at least two games due to injuries but were each back in action last week against Virginia. Forward Maddy Westbeld has missed all 13 games so far due to an offseason foot injury but she is expected to make her season debut soon.
