Shedeur Sanders Sends Provocative, Viral 5-Word Message After NFL Draft Snub
The NFL world watched with a mixture of surprise and bewilderment on Friday as Colorado Buffaloes quarterback Shedeur Sanders was not selected on Day 2 of the 2025 NFL draft in Green Bay.
Sanders, mocked as a top five pick for several months after his electrifying performances in Boulder with his father Deion Sanders' team, was also prank called by a person pretending to be an NFL general manager on the day as he watched helplessly from the periphery.
Following Sanders' rough day, the former Jackson State Tiger and Division-I star quarterback took to X to make a humble yet provocative statement to his 151,000 plus followers.
"Thank you GOD for EVERYTHING," Sanders wrote on Friday night in a message that was viewed 7.8 million times.
Sanders' slide in the NFL draft created a firestorm of controversy as fans and media attempted to piece together why the talented and accomplished prospect was not selected in the draft's first three rounds.
"Gods got you," former Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III shared with Sanders in the comments section of his post.
"Shedeur really gonna be playing with a vengeance for whatever team he plays for," a fan added after reading Sanders' message.
"Remember Tom Brady was drafted Round 6 Pick 199," another fan said of the seven-time Super Bowl champion, who has worked with Sanders on and off the field in recent years.
