Three Mariners Prospects Named to 2025 MLB Futures Game

Ahead of the MLB Futures Game in Atlanta this year, three Mariners prospects have been named and will participate during the All-Star Weekend. Switch pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje, outfielder Lazaro Montes, and catcher Harry Ford have all been selected to showcase their talents as some of the brightest emerging stars in Major League Baseball.

The Futures Game, which features top minor league players having excellent seasons this year, provides some of the best minor leaguers with a chance to display their skills in front of many fans attending MLB All-Star Weekend on July 12.

The Mariners are one of two teams with three prospects in the Futures Game; the other is the Detroit Tigers, which has three participants, all of whom have impressive seasons this year.

Cijntje, who posts a 4.88 ERA as a switch pitcher, throws with both right and left-handed from the mound, and, in 12 starts with Seattle, has struck out 58 batters across 222 faced. As for Montes, he has hit .267 with a .388 on-base percentage, along with 21 homers this season. Finally, catcher Harry Ford has been solid for the Mariners down in Triple-A, posting a .305 batting average, a .418 OBP, and hitting eight homers this season.

All three Mariners prospects participating in the Futures Game are ranked within the MLB pipeline's top prospects. Montes is ranked No.30, Ford is No.59, and Cijntje is No.84.
